Alaskan Trip Journal

Date: Saturday, August 2, 2003

Starting Location: Buellton, CA

Destination: Long Beach, CA

Trip Description: We started with a big pancake breakfast this morning. Today's mileage is low, but it took us a while because of the heavy traffic. The 405 Freeway (I-405) was stop and go for miles. We reached Long Beach at 4 PM. Laura and I stopped at a grocery store and refilled the RV's pantry. We then checked in at the Golden Shore RV Resort. It is another good-quality establishment. We will stay here two nights. Tomorrow, we will tour the LA area, and maybe go to Catalina Island. Below are some pictures of the Queen Mary and the Russian submarine docked in Long Beach. We did not take a tour there, because it is quite expensive. We'll save our money for bigger and better things.
