Alaskan Trip Journal

Date: Saturday, June 28, 2003

Starting Location: Forestville/Mystery Cave State Park, MN

Destination: Sioux Falls, SD

Trip Description: Laura and I got on the road around 10:00 AM. We headed west across the southern edge of Minnesota on I-90. We were making good progress until the vehicle decided not to cooperate. I'm sitting at a truck stop garage waiting for the mechanic to finish lunch. Hopefully, the only problem is a broken fan belt. We're getting a bit annoyed with these unplanned stops.

There's good news and bad news. We sat for 5 hours, and spent a considerable amount getting the water pump repaired. The good news is that we are not stuck in Blue Earth, MN any longer. The ride from Minnesota into South Dakota was a pleasant one. We were paranoid that something else would happen. Luckily, the last 120 miles were uneventful.
