Alaskan Trip Journal

Date: Wednesday, July30, 2003

Starting Location: south of Coos Bay, OR

Destination: Pacifica, CA (near San Francisco)

Trip Description: We continued south on US 101 today. The Oregon coastline is beautiful in the morning sun. We drove through Redwood National Park this afternoon. The trees are larger than any we have ever seen. Laura and I took a walk through a redwood grove. It was truly amazing. We even went to a place with a tree that you can drive a car through. Our RV would not fit, but we walked through the tree. This evening brings us to the San Francisco area. We passed many vineyards on our way south. We plan to stay in San Francisco tomorrow and go sightseing. We will probably rent a car, so it won't be so difficult to get around.
